Why You Should Visit Inverloch?

Inverloch

This coastline is a hidden gem. It is popular with families and not many tourists know about this region. It’s located about 2 hours from Melbourne in Gippsland. This is how we recommend you spend your time.

  1. Bridge and Cave

  2. Eagles Nest

  3. Cape Paterson

Where to stay?

We stayed at Inverloch Glamping. Located 6 minutes drive away from Inverloch. It is located just off the Cape Paterson Inverloch Road which takes you along the beautiful coast. There are many places to stop along the road where you can park and walk down to the beach. There are several options including different sized bell tents and eco cabins. We stayed in a 5m bell tent and shared the bathroom with another tent. There are shared cooking facilities and every stay has their own fire chimney outside. We wanted to enjoy this stay so we bought some nice food from the town to cook.

They have a Bath House which can be booked for $45. We booked it for an hour before sunset and we could stay longer as we were the last booking for the day. There are 2 baths on a wooden deck surrounded by a fence for privacy. The front is open with a view down to the ocean. Beautiful candle and sheet decorations hang off the tree. We enjoyed a bottle of rose from a local wine producer called Dirty Three Wines.

Kilcunda Trestle Bridge

On the drive to Inverloch a historic looking bridge caught our attention. We pulled over and walked under the bridge to the beach. On the side of the beach there were cool rock formations and a little tunnel.

Eagles Nest

From the car park, there is a short walkway to the peninsula with a spectacular view of a rock tower in the ocean. We took the stairs down to the beach and got another stunning perspective of the cliff and rock tower. We walked back up and watched the sunset behind the coastal cliffs.

Cape Paterson Bay Beach

This beautiful section of coast is very unique with a nice sand beach, a natural pool and a rocky outcrop. Waves crash against the rocks on windy days and it was fun to watch. On either side are sandy beaches and there is a natural swimming pool.
