Best Photograph Spots For The Golden Gate Bridge
The iconic bridge can be viewed from many different locations. A good way to see all of these viewpoints is by hiring a bike. These are my favourite spots.
Baker Beach & Marshall's Beach
On the San Francisco side, you can stroll along the beach with the bridge getting bigger and bigger. At sunset, it looks like the bridge is on fire. This viewpoint isn't touristy and the crowds increased as I got closer to the bridge. From the beach, there is a trail that leads you up the hill and towards Battery West Trail.
Battery West Trail
The remnants of the old artillery battery are scattered along the trail. You can explore the interesting artillery battery.
Battery East Trail
Continue around the corner to the other side of the bridge. On the east side of the bridge, there are a few pedestrian and bicycle paths at different levels. Just below this trail is Fort Point with a Civil War-era brick fortress. It provides a unique perspective of the bridge and is a nice walk along the waterfront.
Battery Spencer
This viewpoint is on the other side of the bridge. It's very popular with tourists so it can get busy. You can get great close-ups of the beautiful bridge with the city in the background.
