Day Trip To Death Valley From Las Vegas

I hired a car from Avis at the Aria and drove to Death Valley. Soon after passing the California state line there is an automated machine where you have to pay an entrance fee.

The Furnace Creek Inn and Ranch Resort is a great place to stop for a meal or you can stay there. It opened it's doors over 90 years ago and has had many celebrities stay. There are stunning views of the desert salt pans and the Panamint Mountains.

Zabriskie Point

From the car park (located next to the main road) it is a short uphill walk along a paved path to get magnificent views. The elevated viewing platform is surrounded by spectacular formations of colourful rock. It is very popular with photographers due to the variety of colours and formations in all directions. You can walk off the path and explore the valley.

Dante’s View

From the carpark there are several paths up the sand stone to reach the viewpoint, providing panoramic views of Death Valley.

The lowest point in North America being 282 ft below sea level. From the car park, there is a sea level sign above on the rocky cliffs. The boardwalk takes you to the pool and salt flats.
